Many of the business letters have beautifully engraved letterheads. One letter of note is the letter from noted American journalist and broadcaster, Lowell Thomas (1896-1981). This can be found in box 30B.As did many people in his day, Mr. Walker kept a carbon copy of most of his outgoing letters. Some of these are responses written on the back of a received letter, to copies typed on scrap paper, envelopes, or even the back side of various manuscripts. The letters are arranged chronologically, and most years have separate folders for general and personal correspondence, and that between Mr. Sparks and various publishers, including many query letters, rejection letters, and letters discussing the details of publishing his books, articles, stories and poems. Boxes 71 – 128, 131- 140 Manuscript Material- The manuscripts of Robert Sparks Walker include those of both published and non-published works.
