Bring your alumni card and a state-issued photo ID with your current address to the Lupton Library Circulation Desk. When you have filled out our courtesy card form and have been entered into the computer system, your library privileges will be activated.
Expiration Date / Renewing Your Card: The card is good for one year from date of issue and can be renewed by re-applying through the same courtesy card process each year. Note: Patrons must resolve all outstanding obligations to Lupton Library before renewing their cards.

How to get a library card: Visiting Scholars must get a letter from the head of the UTC department with which they are working. This letter must: Be written on department letterhead Be signed by the Head of the Department Specify an expiration date within one year of the current date

After that date, the card can be renewed with a new letter and a new application for a courtesy card. How to get a library card: A Student, Faculty, or Staff member at a Tennessee Board of Regents or University of Tennessee school can get a TBR/UT card by visiting the Circulation Desk at his or her home library. Bring this TBR/UT card and a state-issued photo ID with current address to the Lupton Library Circulation Desk. When you have filled out our courtesy card form and been entered into the computer system, your library privileges will be activated.
Expiration Date / Renewing Your Card: The expiration date of the card is specified by your home institution (no more than one year from date of issue). Your card can be renewed by bringing an updated TBR/UT card and a state-issued photo ID with current address to the Lupton Library Circulation Desk. When you have filled out our courtesy card form, your library privileges will be reactivated. Note: Patrons must resolve all outstanding obligations to Lupton Library before renewing their cards.

How to get a library card: Teachers from the Hamilton County Public School District can get a library card by presenting a letter from their school. The letter must:
Have a current date Verify employment with the Hamilton County Schools Be signed by the principal of the school Be written on school letterhead
Bring this letter and a state-issued photo ID with current address to the Lupton Library Circulation Desk. When you have filled out our courtesy card form and been entered into the computer system, your library privileges will be activated.
Expiration Date / Renewing Your Card: The card is good until August 20th immediately following the current school year. The card can be renewed by bringing a new verification letter from your principal and a state-issued photo ID with current address to the Lupton Library Circulation Desk. When you have filled out our courtesy card form, your library privileges will be reactivated. Note: Patrons must resolve all outstanding obligations to Lupton Library before renewing their cards.
How to get a library card: Other visitors who wish to join the Library will be issued a Lupton Library courtesy card with payment of a $50.00 annual subscriber's fee and presentation of a state-issued photo ID with current address. Bring this documentation to the Lupton Library Circulation Desk. When you have filled out our courtesy card form and been entered into the computer system, your library privileges will be activated.
Expiration Date / Renewing Your Card: The card is good for one year from date of issue. The card can be renewed for another year by paying $50.00 and presenting your state issued photo ID with current address.
