Dear General

My father requests me to write you in addition to the letter I have written for the camp and ask for him one of your Silver Medals as he never rec’d one his name is Eli W. Anderson Co. “I” 42d Indiana and at the time he was wounded at Chickamauga on Sept 19 he was comanding (sic) a Battery of Brass Howitsers (sic), and he requests me to ask you if you will not send him one of your Silver Medals, as he wants one badly.
