Tracy City, Tenn. Aug. 18th 1863 Dear Pet. My Command is here on top of Cumberland Mountain on its way to Sequatchie Valley and the Valley of the Tennesee (sic) river. The whole army is on the move. I go to Harrison on the Tenn. River, if I can. I shall cross the river, and make a demonstration on Chattanooga. As usual, they have assigned me the most difficult part of the movement. My health is much improved. I do not know when I can get a chance to send you a letter again, will improve every opportunity. On my return I found my Brigade in a good deal of a jangle, I soon put things to rights and everything is now running smoothly. As ever your faithful Husband J.T. Wilder
