Group Study Rooms

Lupton Library has a number of group study rooms located on the east and west ends of the third floor of Lupton Library (Third Floor Map).

Group study rooms 323-326 are open and available to any library patron on a first-come, first-served basis. If the room is unoccupied, go on in.

Keys for group study rooms 301-306 may be checked out at the Circulation Desk by any current UTC student, faculty, or staff member with a valid MOCS Card. These rooms are checked out for 3 hours at a time. Renewals will be granted at the Circulation desk if no other patrons are waiting.

Room 327 has been designated as a "Reserve" study room.

  • This room can be reserved by any current student, faculty, or staff member with a valid MOCS Card.
  • Priority for this study room is given to groups of two or more people.
  • A single group can reserve this study room for a maximum of 3 hours per day.
  • To sign up for the reserve study room, stop by the Circulation Desk or use our online Group Study Room Request Form.

The following rules apply to all patrons using the group study rooms:

  • Study Room keys may not be removed from the building.
  • Overdue fines for study room keys accrue at $5.00 per hour. The replacement charge for a lost key is $50.00.
  • Priority for study rooms is given to groups of two or more people.
  • Drinks and snack foods are allowed.
  • No defacement of the study rooms is allowed.
  • Patrons using the group study rooms must abide by these and all other Lupton Library policies. Patrons not in compliance may be asked to leave and be barred from future group study room use.
